Everton midfielder Seamus Coleman wants to start on Saturday against Manchester United

Everton midfielder Seamus Coleman hopes to have his number called on Saturday when Everton vs Manchester United, but admits to robust competition for places at Everton.

“We will see what the manager says,” the young winger continued. “We have great competition for places here at Everton,

“Billy came in against Chelsea and I thought he was fantastic so no-one is guaranteed a place in the wide positions. Hopefully I will get the position but if not I will keep working hard.”

Coleman’s place in Everton’s starting line-up has, for the last two games, been taken by in-form Dutchman Royston Drenthe.

But with the on-loan winger suspended for Saturday’s visit of Manchester United Coleman is hopeful of regaining a starting spot.

The Irishman believes the Blues are a match for anyone in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

“I think teams coming here know what they’re going to get,” Coleman said.

The other game on Saturday is Chelsea vs Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
